Mera Pakistan Mera Ghar 2026: Eligibility, 5% Markup Rates & Application Process
Federal government’s “Mera Pakistan Mera Ghar” offers an amount on 10 million PKR as house loan. The program has since undergone changes. The scheme previously known as Mera Ghar – Mera Ashiana was officially renamed Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar Program – Ghar Ho Tu Apna in March 2026. Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar Program is a government-backed housing-finance initiative implemented through the State Bank of Pakistan and participating financial institutions. It was designed to facilitate home ownership for eligible first-time homeowners by providing housing finance at subsidized rates.
Allowed Loan Uses:

This loan can be used for purchasing a newly constructed house or apartment. If you already owned a plot, use this loan for construction. You can also purchase a plot and immediately build house on it.
Eligibility Criteria:
• To apply for the 10 Million PKR bracket (Tier 3), an applicant must satisfy the following:
• Pakistani citizen holding a valid CNIC/NICOP.
• Must not already own a constructed residential property in their name anywhere in Pakistan.
• Houses Up to 10 Marla (approx. 2,720 sq. ft.).
• Flats/Apartments: Covered area up to 1,500 – 2,000 sq. ft.
• Minimum 21 to 25 years; maximum 60 years (for salaried) or 65 years (for self-employed/business owners) at loan maturity.
• Minimum 2 years of continuous employment history and a minimum net monthly income of around PKR 35,000+.
• Minimum 3 years of verifiable business operations.
• Must have a clean electronic Credit Information Bureau (eCIB) record with no default history.
Key Terms & Conditions
Subsidized home financing under this scheme can only be availed once per individual/family. Purchasing land or a constructed house directly from immediate blood relatives is not permitted. Most participating banks do not charge prepayment penalties or processing fee surcharges under this government-backed scheme.
Spouses or immediate family members can join as co-applicants to pool their income and qualify for higher monthly installment capabilities.
Required Documentation:

• Valid CNIC copy and 2 passport-size photographs.
• Signed declaration affirming you are a first-time homeowner.
• Last 3 salary slips, employment certificate, and 12-month bank statement.
• NTN certificate, 12-month bank statements, and proof of business tenure (e.g., registration or lease agreement).
• Title deed (Fard), approved building map (if constructing), or seller agreement-to-sell.

You can apply directly at the specialized mortgage desk of major participating commercial banks (such as National Bank of Pakistan, Bank AL Habib, Faysal Bank, Meezan Bank, or Habib Bank Limited)
